Abstract
This research studies the level and terms of the impact of Manichaeism literature on Farsi literature. To this end, initially the alegories in the works of Mani which have been penned in Iranian languages are studied. Thereafter, the alegori Farsi examples among Farsi works of prose have been searched. This study has taken into consideration thirty-seven Farsi works of prose, which have been authored prior to Mongol raids; that cover a relatively diverse range of topics. In contrast to expectations, the alegori Farsi examples were not diverse as such. In fact, the only anecdotes that precisely matched the Manichaeism alegories in theme and structure were the two books of “Kelil-e va Demneh” and Sinbad Nameh”. Also, it seems as though there are cases of mystic texts, which resemble Manichaeism alegories in regard to theme and content. In fact, this is possibly a manifestation of the indirect impact of gnostic ideology of followers of Mani in this genre of works.
